ABOUT AMELIA

Amelia began volunteering with One Step in 2019 which led to her working with us in a Youth Project Worker role.

She has a varied background, originally training as a Mental Health Nurse, then working with animals suffering from abuse and neglect for many years.

Amelia is now helping to support young people through various pathways and creative projects because young people’s mental health and well being is more important than ever.

What is your guilty pleasure?

90's Garage Classics and Old School Rap Songs. I've also had to stop listening to Drum & Bass in the car because it makes me drive erratically and over the speed limit.

I too have an unhealthy obsession with desserts, the creamier and more calories the better.

Who is your hero?

The women in my family who are all strong, courageous, creative and independent as well as patient, kind and encouraging.

What is your proudest moment?

Supporting class members on my college course with their studies when they were about to quit, it was amazing to see them complete the course and be proud of what they had achieved.

You're going to be stuck on a desert island for the rest of your days. What 3 things are you taking with you?

Music, my two sausage dogs, unlimited supplies of food and desserts.
