BEFRIENDING PROGRAMME

WHAT?

The Befriending Programme is a Volunteer programme inspired by the basic social principals of inclusion, enjoyment and belonging.

Inspired by the work of our Virtual Volunteers at the star of lockdown,  Befrienders connect and interact with our Young People over a common interest, skill or hobby, encouraging them to pursue the things they enjoy.

It's all about having fun, building relationships, and encouraging Young People to do the things they enjoy. All of these things work to support those experiencing challenges with their mental health and well being.

WHO?

The Programme is aimed at the Young people that we support who are looking to explore their curiosities.

Anyone can be a Befriender! All you need is a skill, interest, hobby or the want to pursue something new.

WHEN?

Whenever! The regularity of Befriending sessions are flexible and dependent on the availability of both the Befriender and the Young Person.

HOW?

Everything from the volunteer training, to the sessions themselves are virtual. Each contract is drawn up on a case by case basis to suit the needs and availability of each person.
